Susannah Barr started playing pickleball at the local YMCA in Boise, Idaho in 2018, with her then 10-year-old son and rapidly discovered a passion for the sport. She quickly rose to playing at the pro level and became certified as a pickleball coach. Following college in Indiana, Susannah spent five years in the military after which Susannah started a family and began a career as a college instructor. She now splits time between playing pro events, teaching at the college, coaching pickleball, and even running pickleball events.
Susannah plays singles and doubles but prefers doubles. She is a student of the game and loves the strategy aspects that can be used to defeat stronger teams. She says it is like figuring out the pieces to a puzzle. She is excited to continue to be challenged and grow as a player, but she is also excited to see the overall growth in the sport. Ultimately, she values the friendships she has made through pickleball and the laughter she finds on the court.
