Canadian National to Represent Selkirk Sport in Packed 2023 Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour and Major League Pickleball (MLP) Schedule.
January 10, 2023 – Catherine Parenteau, one of the most well known players in professional pickleball, finalized a new sponsorship contract today with leading pickleball brand, Selkirk Sport. In what promises to be an unprecedented year for professional pickleball coverage and global intrigue, Parenteau joins a deep roster of top-ranked athletes under the Selkirk banner.
Selkirk boasts the deepest roster of “Gold Card” Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour Professionals, as Parenteau joins the likes of Tyson McGuffin, Parris Todd, Mary Brascia, Maggie Brascia, Dylan Frazier, James Ignatowich, Travis Rettenmeier, and many more of the sports’ biggest names. Parenteau has been a top name in the sport for quite some time, but she really secured her place as a standout player with an impressive conclusion to 2022. Perhaps most notably, she ended the year with a Women’s Doubles Championship at the PPA Hertz National Championship alongside World No. 1 Anna Leigh Waters in what could be a powerhouse partnership in 2023. Parenteau also brought home a silver medal in the Mixed Doubles Division with veteran partner Riley Newman. Earlier in the year, she also achieved the rare PPA Championship Triple Crown, winning gold in all three events at the North Carolina event.

I really like that paddle and I’m looking forward to playing with it,” said Parenteau. “My 2023 goals include winning a second triple crown as well as remaining in the top 2 of the rankings for the entire calendar year.”
Catherine Parenteau’s career highlights include over 16 PPA Tour medals and three U.S. Open Titles. She is also currently ranked No. 2 in Women’s Singles in the PPA Player Rankings, as well as No.4 in Mixed Doubles. She began her athletic career in tennis, picking up a racket for the first time at the age of four. After soaring to the top ranks in Canadian tennis, she competed for highly ranked tennis programs at the University of Arkansas and Michigan State University. She made the transfer over to professional pickleball in 2016 after her former tennis coach and pickleball legend, Simone Jardim, introduced her to the sport. Although early in her career, Catherine has cemented herself as one of the most accomplished players in the game and will look to build to her impressive pickleball resume in the years to come.
Parenteau can be seen in action at all 2023 PPA and MLP events, and she is based in the pickleball hotspot of Naples, Florida. Now an official member of the Selkirk family, Catherine joins the ranks of top Selkirk pros looking to make noise in 2023.
