SELKIRK TV released a new episode this week of its original show - The Future Of Pickleball - with special guest, and top-ranked professional player, Jay Devilliers.
In this episode, host Paul Olson and Jay Devilliers discuss his rise into the professional ranks, what it takes to stay at the top of the game, the growth of pickleball in Europe, crossovers between tennis and pickleball, and much more.
"Pickleball is going to take over because it is more accessible to the general public. It's easy to pick up and start playing but also hard to master as well," said Jay Devilliers. "It has that complexity aspect and that entry entry factor that make it better than Padel or tennis."
Devilliers has been a mainstay on the PPA Tour for quite some time, and is one of the sport's most recognizable name. A French National, Devilliers crossed over to pickleball from a high-level tennis background to become a force on both the singles and doubles side of the game. Devilliers was one of the first to become contracted by the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour, and is regularly a top-5 finisher in tour events. He has utilized his great size and length, as well as his well-known one-handed background stroke, to become one of the top players in the world. He will continue to make noise at the highest level in 2023 on the PPA Tour.
