How to overgrip your pickleball paddle for maximum performance
Applying a fresh overgrip is a simple yet highly effective maintenance tool to combat sweat, prevent the handle from twisting during fast-paced exchanges, and improve overall paddle control.
The wrapping direction is determined by your dominant hand: looking down at the butt cap, right-handed players pull the grip to the right, while left-handed players pull to the left.
Maintaining a consistent tension of roughly 70 to 80 percent as you overlap and rotate up the handle ensures a smooth, secure fit. Finishing the application with finishing tape or a rubber collar at the top of the handle keeps the grip firmly locked in place and ready for tournament play.
