Following Her Decorated Professional Golf Career, Steinhauer has Brought her Competitive Fire and Championship Experience to the Booming Sport of Pickleball.

January 20, 2023 – Sherri Steinhauer, the decorated former LPGA Champion, has since transitioned into the fast-growing sport of pickleball, and today re-signed as an important member of Team Selkirk. Selkirk Sport, pickleball’s leading paddle brand, boasts the deepest roster of talented professional pickleball athletes.

Steinhauer, who began playing golf as a child, began playing professionally at a young age to kick off a decorated professional career that spanned over 26 years. She attended the University of Texas at Austin before becoming a mainstay on the LPGA Tour.

Among her many accomplishments, Steinhauer secured eight LPGA Tour Championships, two Major Championships, and four Solheim Cup Championships. Her two Major Championship wins came in the 1992 du Maurier Classic and the 2006 Women’s British Open. She proudly represented the United States at the Solheim Cup in 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2007.

After retiring from the LPGA Tour in 2012, Steinhauer turned her competitive drive to pickleball, picking it up quickly and finding quick success utilizing her precision skills to fall in love with the fastest growing sport in the US.

Understanding the importance of consistency, power, and spin from her experience at the highest level in golf, Steinhauer enjoys competing with the premium pickleball paddles offered by Selkirk. In competition Steinhauer has opted for the Selkirk Vanguard Power Air Invikta paddle for its incredible power and high-rpm spin surface.

“We feel lucky to have Sherri Steinhauer as a member of Team Selkirk,” said Selkirk Sport Co-CEO and Co-Founder Mike Barnes. “There is an exciting crossover and correlation between pickleball and golf, and we are thrilled to work with Sherri who brings an incredibly unique and awesome combination of passion for and experience in both sports.”

Steinhauer, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, has since settled in Phoenix, Arizona, which is known as a pickleball hotspot in the US. Steinhauer brings her athletic experience and passion for pickleball to her local community as an outgoing Selkirk ambassador and esteemed player. She continues to build on her game and network of fellow pickleball enthusiasts with support from the leading paddle brand in Selkirk.
