COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Aug. 14, 2025 — Selkirk Sport today announced the release of LABS Project Boomstik, a high-performance pickleball paddle designed to meet the sport’s increasing demand for explosive power and durability. The Boomstik introduces breakthrough foam core technology and advanced engineering to help players compete at the highest level without sacrificing control or consistency.
As the pace and aggressiveness of pickleball continue to rise, players are looking for equipment that can deliver both raw power and lasting performance.
The Boomstik leverages Selkirk’s new BoomCore construction — a PureFoam core surrounded by an EVA Power Ring — to produce 12 percent more power than the average Gen 3 paddle. The design also eliminates core crush, or the degradation of a paddle’s core over time, ensuring long-term durability.
The paddle also debuts Selkirk’s Moment of Inertia (MOI) Tuning System, a perimeter weighting technology that optimizes mass distribution for a larger sweet spot and increased stability on off-center hits. This system enhances forgiveness without requiring aftermarket modifications like lead tape.
“Boomstik represents a true leap forward in paddle technology,” said Tom Barnes, Selkirk Sport’s director of research and development. “We’ve engineered a paddle that delivers unmatched power while maintaining the feel, balance and durability competitive players demand. It’s about giving athletes every possible advantage on the court.”
Top professional players, including Jack Sock and Catherine Parenteau, are already using the Boomstik in their game because it offers a competitive edge in an increasingly aggressive playing environment. In preliminary tests, Parenteau was able to serve at 65 mph, while Sock reached speeds of 78.
Lauren Stratman, a top 25-ranked player on the PPA tour, said the Boomstik is her favorite Selkirk paddle to date.
"It has effortless power, max spin where I feel like I’m dictating while dinking, and due to the pop, it makes half volleys and pick-ups in transition feel effortless," Stratman said. "Elevating your game is inevitable with this paddle.”
Available in elongated and widebody shapes, the Boomstik is priced at $333 and is offered exclusively through Selkirk.com and select authorized LABS retailers. Purchases include a $33 LABS Feedback Credit for players who share insights on their experience.
