Anna and her team the New York Hustlers placed third in their group, marking their worst performance as a team. Anna gives us an inside look at the team’s strategy going into the weekend and where she thinks they could have improved.
James’ MLP San Clemente recap:
Meanwhile, James and his team the New Jersey 5s had their best performance, making it all the way to the finals. James talks about the bittersweet end to the season after the team lost to the Seattle Pioneers in a dreambreaker round.

As the MLP San Clemente event marked the end of the season, Anna and James look forward to the MLP draft. They discuss draft strategies, when they’d like to be drafted, and who may be drafted higher or lower than last season.
Vacation time:
Professional tournaments are on a hiatus and Anna and James are seizing the opportunity to travel to Europe. The two have plane tickets to England and plans to see Wimbledon, but beyond that, they’re leaving it up to fate.
Matt Wright vs. Hayden Patriquin beef:
During a match at MLP San Clemente between the New Jersey 5s and the Milwaukee Mashers, things got chirpy between James’ men’s doubles partner Hayden Patriquin and Mashers player Matt Wright. The exchange of words continued into the mixed doubles match where Hayden was given a blue card. James gives us an inside look into what exactly was said on the court.
James + Matt Wright partnership for PPA Denver:
James shares that in the upcoming PPA Denver Open, he’s going to play men’s doubles with Matt, who had long been partners with Riley Newman. James looks forward to the “electric and loud" energy the two will bring to men’s play. Anna will again be playing women’s doubles with Anna Leigh Waters.
James’ special birthday present:
Anna jokingly surprises James with a belated birthday present — a Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert ticket. James says that although he appreciates Taylor Swift, he doesn’t want to go to a concert with “a bunch of 13-year-old girls.” Will he wind up accepting the offer?
Who gets drafted higher … Dylan Frazier or Anna Bright?
James asks Anna who she thinks will be drafted higher, her or Dylan Frazier. Anna answers the question and offers additional insight into her strategy depending on where she is selected in the draft.
