Team Selkirk Advances Strong in Atlanta After Dominant Round of 32 Performances

Team Selkirk came out firing on all cylinders in the Round of 32 at the Carvana PPA Atlanta Open, with standout performances across all brackets from Catherine Parenteau, Rachel Rohrabacher, and James Ignatowich. The trio is now set for high-stakes Round of 16 battles as they continue their pursuit of hardware at one of the year’s marquee tour stops.

Parenteau Cruises in Singles and Mixed

World No. 2 Catherine Parenteau looked sharp and in control during her Women’s Singles Round of 32 match, defeating Jalina Ingram with a convincing 11-2, 11-0 scoreline. Her clinical precision and consistency kept Ingram on the defensive from the opening rally.

In Mixed Doubles, Parenteau partnered with Federico Staksrud for a dominant performance against Samantha Parker / Zane Navratil, winning 11-5, 11-8. The veteran duo showed strong synergy and poise in tight moments, particularly in game two.

📍 Next Up (Singles): Parenteau will face Lina Padegimaite in the Round of 16.

📍 Next Up (Mixed Doubles): Parenteau/Staksrud square off against Jade Kawamoto / Dylan Frazier, a balanced and athletic team that will test their versatility.

Rohrabacher, Dekel Bar Roll Into R16

Rising Selkirk star Rachel Rohrabacher and veteran Dekel Bar were all business in their Round of 32 Mixed Doubles match, powering past Max Freeman / Alix Truong with a commanding 11-7, 11-6 win. Rohrabacher’s hands at the kitchen and aggressive poaches helped dictate tempo, while Bar’s court coverage and pressure sealed the win.

📍 Next Up (Mixed Doubles): Rohrabacher/Bar will face Jaume Martinez Vich / Meghan Dizon, who edged their way through a tight three-game win and are looking to continue that momentum.

Ignatowich Impresses in Men’s and Mixed

James Ignatowich turned in a clean Men’s Doubles performance alongside Collin Johns, beating Yuta Fuenmizyu / Craig Johnson 11-6, 11-4. Their chemistry and consistent pressure proved too much for the underdog pairing.

In Mixed Doubles, Ignatowich and Tyra Hurricane Black dominated their match against Layne Sleeth / Tyler Loong, coming away with an 11-5, 11-9 win. The duo’s energy and attacking mindset set the tone from the jump.

📍 Next Up (Men’s Doubles): Ignatowich/Johns will face Dylan Frazier / Dekel Bar in a blockbuster Round of 16 matchup.

📍 Next Up (Mixed Doubles): Ignatowich/Black will meet Jade Kawamoto / Dylan Frazier, marking a pivotal test for both teams with quarterfinal implications.
