Mixed Doubles action kicked off Friday morning in Denver Colorado following an action-packed day of singles. Let’s recap what happened starting with Sunday’s finals matchup.
Final
Ben Johns & Anna Leigh Waters vs Lucy Kovalova and Matt Wright
This is a finals rematch from all the way back in February where Johns and Waters won in straight games. With no Riley Newman, JW Johnson or James Ignatowich in the field it was a straight forward day for the #1 seeds while the 3 seeds Kovalova/Wright had to battle through the draw beating (19) Alshon/Black, (11) Navratil/Tereschenko in 3 games before defeating (15) Garnett/Wright 11-7 11-7 to stamp their ticket to championship Sunday

Connor Garnett grabbed his first doubles medal of the PPA season teaming up with Etta Wright. They started their day off upsetting (2) Frazier/Bright in 3 games and followed it up with wins over (7) Wilson/David and (5) Staksrud/Dizon in the bronze medal match.
