What sparked
the concept

The idea began in March 2024 when Selkirk’s leaders Mike, Rob, Jim, and Tom Barnes visited the Tesla Fremont Factory in California for a tour. Seeing firsthand Tesla’s visionary approach to design and engineering in the automotive space sparked a question — how could that apply to pickleball?

From that spark, a paddle concept took flight.

A New Paddle Shape

Tesla’s aerodynamics testing was key in determining the overall shape of the paddle. Its elongated form, paired with the air-dynamic open throat and sharp edgeless style, reduces drag while increasing reach.
