Advanced players are adept at defending against speed and also causing trouble with a counter-attack. To be able to counter-attack well, always assume that your opponents will hit hard. If you are always ready for speed, you will always be ready to reply with some of your own.

Key Technical Skills:

Be ready with your backhand - The backhand is often targeted by opponents since it is usually less of a threat than your forehand. Additionally, body shots are usually best defended with a backhand. So it may be worth it to adjust your ready position to have your paddle slightly tilted towards your backhand side.

Be ready for your opponents to attack, and look to counter with an attack of your own.
