Team Selkirk continued to make its mark on the singles and doubles courts today, with several players battling through tough matchups to advance to the Round of 16.
Lenhard earns hard-fought win over Frazier
Rafa Lenhard opened today's Round of 32 with a three-game battle in singles against the No. 16 seed, Dylan Frazier. Lenhard entered the tournament as the No. 17 seed but held the edge in their head-to-head record, with their most recent meeting coming at the Las Vegas Open just last month.
In Game 1, Lenhard got off to an 8-0 start before closing it out, 11-8. After Frazier answered with a reverse scoreline in Game 2, he took a 4-0 lead in the deciding game before Lenhard began to make headway, cutting the deficit to 6-4. Lenhard ultimately squeezed out a 12-10 victory, setting up a clash with the No. 3 seed, Hunter Johnson.
Kunimoto keeps it going in singles
18-year-old Kiora Kunimoto faced the tricky Danni-Elle Townsend in singles and pulled out a three-game victory. After taking the first game 11-4, Kunimoto found herself down 0-6 in the second before regaining her form in the third. Using her signature sharp angles and passing shots, Kunimoto got the best of Townsend in the deciding game, closing it out 11-1.
Kunimoto will now face Jorja Johnson in what should be another exciting matchup.

Sock breezes through round of 32
Jack Sock made quick work of his singles match against Yates Johnson. After a three-game battle against youngster Jonathan Truong yesterday, Sock needed less than 25 minutes today to take down Johnson, 11-1, 11-1. Sock played a clean match and didn’t need to do much beyond passing Johnson. He will face No. 2 Federico Staksrud tomorrow for a chance to make the quarterfinals on Friday.
In doubles, Sock again faced Jonathan Truong, this time with Lacy Schneeman by his side. Just last month at the Chicago Cup, Sock and Schneeman lost to Truong and Meghan Dizon, but this time, the pair got their revenge in straight games. With the 11-7, 11-8 win, they advance to play the No. 1 seeds, Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters, tomorrow.
