Poppy, Solid Feel. Hit with pinpoint accuracy.

Our pickle crew played with the S1s yesterday. We generally play the X40 and occasionally the Durafast. 4.0-5.0 level of play range.

We cycled through four balls in just under 4 hours of play. They held form pretty well, no cracking, some slight warping occurred on two of the balls. The two effected balls still played quite consistent in spite of the slight degradation of spherical shape. No cracking, temps were in the upper 60s.

We had some of the best rallies and points we have ever strung together as a group with these balls, could have been a coincidence. The balls play softer then the X40s, but somehow offer more speed, control, and pop. It feels like you get a little more dwell time on the paddle from the S1. We play the Power Air, Control Air, Legacy Pro, 003, and a Paddletek.

With just one session of use I can’t offer up much more then this. Overall we all enjoyed the feel and play style that the S1 delivered! They hold shape much better then the Durafast. Not as light and poppy, but still dynamic. It’s worth giving them a try.

Much better durability

Bought them on Monday and they arrived Tuesday afternoon. We used them later that day. All four of us thought the durability was much better than dura's and X40's . We played about 6 competitive games with one ball and had no cracking. I did notice a slight deformation in the ball after the 6th game. We all also believed it to play quicker and with maybe a little more spin or movement which we all enjoyed.

New S1 ball is worth the price

Several of us have been playing with this ball over the last month. The majority of the better players either like it as well or better than the ball our club has been using for years. I think the ball is slightly faster than the X40 and has a little more spin. We have been using the ball in temperatures from 37 degrees to 70 degrees. A few days ago it was 37 degrees and the court next to us broke 4 X40’s in an hour. They asked to use the Selkirk S1 because we have not broken any and they liked the new ball. More expense but worth the price.

Great ball, one small flaw.

I have had some of these balls for over 6 months now and none of them have cracked. They play faster than an x40, a bit slower than a dura when its warm outside, but they NEVER break! Only issue I have had is a ball or two have gotten a little mishapen, hasn't seemed to effect playability much if at all though.

Inconsistent bounces off serves

I really want to love these balls as I’m tired of the X-40s cracking so easily and the overall game play is great. These balls are noticeably faster and offer good spin and control. We played outdoors at around 40F and both balls I used started to warp. It was enough that all four of us noticed inconsistent bounces especially off a serve (like when the ball hits a piece of debris). Sometimes it bounced normal, sometimes it popped up and other times it was like it deflated and barely bounced. I’m going to keep trying a few more so fingers crossed.
