The 2022 Selkirk Labs Showdown
Selkirk is proud to partner with the PPA to present the Selkirk Labs Showdown Powered by Invited! This team format, made-for-tv event will feature the top 24 pickleball pros in the world competing in completely new, never before seen partnerships.
The showdown will take place August 5-7 at the prestigious Braemar Country Club in Los Angeles, California and will be aired live through Selkirk TV, PPA Livestream, and The Tennis Channel!
The Format
The 24 players will be divided into three pools of eights, 4 men and 4 women. Each player will be competing as an individual in pool play and will earn points by playing both gender and mixed doubles with random partners in their pool. The top 2 men and women from each of the three pools will advance to tournament play. In addition, 4 wildcards will be awarded to the top two men and women (determined by wins/losses and point differential) across all pools with the highest point totals.
The 16 advancing players will be seeded based on their performance in pool play, and divided into 4 teams of 4 (2 men and 2 women). When teams face off, they will play men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and 2 games of mixed doubles to determine a winner!
Where to Watch
Pool play will be aired live on Selkirk TV and the PPA Livestream starting Friday (8/5) and continuing Saturday (8/6) morning. The Tennis Channel will provide live Semi-Final Coverage on Saturday (8/6) from 10:00 - 3:00 PT. The Finals Coverage will start at 10:00 PT on Sunday (8/7) also on The Tennis Channel.
