PPA Las Vegas: Team Selkirk preview

The PPA returns to Las Vegas — this time making its debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The tournament will follow a traditional draw format, with singles played on Thursday, mixed doubles on Friday, and gender doubles on Saturday, leading up to all event finals on Championship Sunday.

With MLP wrapping up last week, there’s no longer pressure for teammates to practice together, opening the door for new partnerships to shake things up on the Strip this week.

Parenteau pairs with Parris

Catherine Parenteau revives an old partnership with Parris Todd in their first tournament together since 2023. The last time the duo competed, they captured gold at the Tournament of Champions and posted an 87% win rate. Parenteau is coming off a semifinal run with the LA Mad Drops, while Todd is riding high after becoming an MLP champion alongside the Columbus Sliders. As the No. 2 seeds, Parenteau and Todd will look to carry their momentum into Vegas to rival top-seeded Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright.

Rafa Lenhard returns

Emerging Pro Rafa Lenhard breezed through qualifiers to reach the main draw in his home state. The last time we saw Lenhard, he was blasting his way through the San Clemente PPA draw, toppling Zane Navratil, Noe Khlif, and Ben Johns. As a qualifier, Lenhard may not secure the most favorable position in the draw, but spectators can expect him to deliver another impressive performance.

Sock forms a new doubles duo

Jack Sock is back in action, competing in both singles and men’s doubles. He faces an early test in the singles round of 32, likely against tricky lefty Max Freeman. Sock has also formed an intriguing new partnership with Michael Loyd, who has found most of his success in singles. The duo will begin in the doubles round of 64, aiming to advance to a matchup with Matt Wright and Eric Oncins.

Brown brings the heat post-MLP

Marshall Brown may be coming into Vegas with a renewed sense of confidence after leading the Nashville Chefs to the MLP Challenger Finals. Brown has been a consistent top performer in Challenger play and now looks to carry that success into Vegas this week.
