In its 11th year in business, Selkirk Sport celebrated a year defined by innovation, growth, and meaningful initiatives.
From the introduction of groundbreaking paddle technologies to pioneering new initiatives that support the pickleball community at every level, this year has demonstrated the company's ongoing mission to drive the sport forward.
2025 product innovations
Known as an industry leader for paddle innovation, Selkirk released several groundbreaking technologies and even introduced a new product offering in 2025.
1.) CourtStrike and CourtStrike Pro
For years, pickleball players have adapted footwear built for other sports, often leading to on-court injuries or reduced quality in play. In January 2025, Selkirk introduced the CourtStrike and CourtStrike Pro, shoes engineered specifically for pickleball movement.
Designed from the ground up for the sport’s unique demands, the CourtStrike line features:
- A high ankle and wide toe box to support quick lateral motions and sudden stops common in pickleball.
- A pickleball-specific outsole patterned for maximum traction on both indoor and outdoor courts.
- An ultra-cushioned, lightweight insole that enables explosive push-offs and long play sessions
The Pro model elevates performance with an aerated midsole for improved energy return and reinforced toe drag protection, extending durability for competitive players. Together, the CourtStrike series represents a milestone in performance footwear tailored for the fastest-growing sport in America.
2.) PureFoam
Unveiled through the Selkirk Labs Project 008, PureFoam marks a leap forward in pickleball paddle construction. This proprietary foam-core technology optimizes the energy transfer between player and paddle, enhancing both feel and control.
Unlike traditional polymer cores, PureFoam offers a uniform density that improves shot consistency across the entire paddle face, giving players a larger, more forgiving sweet spot. PureFoam offers a glimpse into Selkirk’s next generation of paddle engineering and is built to deliver a smoother, more responsive touch.
3) InfiniGrit
Selkirk’s new InfiniGrit surface technology debuted on the LABS Project 007, but is now featured on the upgraded LUXX Control Air, setting a new standard for balanced spin and durability. Using an advanced, proprietary texturing process, InfiniGrit creates a long-lasting surface that maintains spin performance over time without degrading.
The result? Players experience enhanced grip on the ball for controlled topspin and placement — all with 3x the paddle lifespan of the original LUXX Control Air.
4) SLK ERA Power
The SLK ERA Power was designed to make advanced paddle technology more attainable. Featuring SpinFlex Texturing, Rev-Core Power, and a Hybrid Carbon Fiber Face, the ERA delivers performance precision at a price accessible to all players.
For many, the SLK ERA Power represents an introduction to Selkirk’s craftsmanship and high-performance power paddles.
5) MOI Tuning System and BoomCore
Found in the Selkirk Labs Project Boomstik, the Moment of Inertia (MOI) Tuning System and BoomCore technology help showcase Selkirk’s most advanced paddle engineering yet.
The MOI Tuning System moves the weights typically found at the inside edges of paddles to the outside, fine-tuning paddle stability and minimizing paddle twist on off-center hits. The BoomCore amplifies the paddle’s energy transfer, allowing players to generate explosive power with less effort.
Together, the technology provides an explosive, well-balanced paddle that enables players to feel confident and powerful on the court.
2025 milestones and community impact
Aside from pushing the boundaries of paddle innovation, Selkirk also made several strides in its mission to fuel the passion for pickleball found inside every player.
Below are a few examples, but Selkirk is proud to work with hundreds of partners across a variety of sectors.
1) Pickleball Combine
In September 2025, Selkirk hosted the inaugural Pickleball Combine, the sport’s first combine. The goal: to find and foster the next generation of elite players.
Six men and six women were invited to Selkirk headquarters to be the inaugural class of athletes to compete for Selkirk athlete contracts. By using advanced analytics and on-court testing, Selkirk created a platform where emerging athletes could benchmark their performance and gain visibility. The Combine was part of a broader commitment to support the sport’s future.
2) Collegiate pickleball
This year, Selkirk became the official sponsor of two collegiate programs: Utah Tech University’s pickleball program, the world’s No. 1 collegiate team, and Loyola Marymount University.
Additionally, through a partnership with the APP Tour, the APP Selkirk Collegiate Pickleball Series offers college athletes across the U.S. structured, competitive opportunities.
These initiatives aim to elevate collegiate pickleball, providing young players the resources and recognition they need to grow the game sustainably.
3)Parkinson’s Foundation partnership
Selkirk joined forces with the Parkinson’s Foundation to promote the therapeutic benefits of pickleball for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. Studies have show pickleball can improve cognitive, social, and gross motor skills for those living with the disease.
The collaboration produced two special-edition paddles, with 12% of proceeds — representing the 1.2 million people projected to be living with Parkinson’s by 20230 — donated directly to the Foundation.
4)Selkirk pro shops
In 2025, Selkirk opened its first two brick-and-mortar locations in Boise, Idaho, and Coeur d’Alene, creating dedicated spaces for players to experience the brand firsthand.
At these stores, visitors can:
- Test paddles and shoes in demo areas.
- Access exclusive Labs products and merchandise.
- Get personalized equipment fittings and advice from Selkirk experts.
These hubs serve as community gathering points, deepening Selkirk’s connection to the sport’s roots in the Pacific Northwest.
5)Selkirk Pickleball TV original documentaries
Selkirk Pickleball TV expanded its storytelling this year with the release of two original documentaries: Game Changers and Changing Courts: The Jack Sock Story.
Both films showcase the sport’s evolution, from its manufacturing pioneers to the new generation shaping its future. These productions represent Selkirk’s ongoing investment in educating, inspiring, and uniting the pickleball community through high-quality storytelling.
