Pro S1 Story
Meet the Pro S1 Series of paddles, the bigger, badder brothers of the very popular Epic series. The Pro S1 series is the culmination of everything we have been working on for the past 3 years. The initial idea for the Pro S1 came in collaboration with Tony Tollenaar, a top SelkirkPro player. Tony suggested that we improve the Epic by shortening the handle and increasing the surface area of the paddle face. This seemingly small change, combined with a redesigned surface, produced a dramatic increase in performance and control. We launched the Pro S1 series at the 2016 National’s with huge success and a large adoption by Pro players and recreational players alike.

Pro S1G Player
The Pro S1G is for the control player who does not want to sacrifice power. What defines professional pickleball play is consistency and a range of ability. A pro pickleball player rarely makes unforced errors and wins with consistency, control, and power. We designed the Pro Series paddles for this level of Pro play. However, these elements are exactly what every recreational player needs in a performance paddle as well. If you are a Pro player or want to improve your game to become one, the Pro S1 series of paddles is for you.
Pro S1G Technology
The Pro S1G Graphite shares the same larger paddle area of the Pro S1C Composite giving it one of the largest sweet spots in the industry. For the S1G we utilized our proprietary EdgeSentryTM edge guard to retain a well-balanced and lightweight paddle. With our Polymer PowerCoreTM Technology at its heart combined with the feel of our CarbonFlexTM Graphite face, this paddle will give you the touch necessary to out smart and out maneuver your opponents.

A friend in our PB club bought this paddle. I tried it and after 5 minutes, I knew I wanted one. I received mine and my friend tried mine. After 5 minutes, she wanted one. We now have several people playing with Selkirk in our Club. I love the feel you get with this paddle. Love it!!
Great Paddle for all Skill Levels
In my opinion this paddle has the best combination of control and power of any I have tried. (And, I've tried a bunch of paddles from all of the different manufacturers.) It's my tournament paddle of choice. It's also a good mix for all skill levels. I think it's the best on the market right now.
second review, even better!
This is my second review of the S1G. I was one of the first to get one at my club. Since then about 6-7 more members have gotten them (we now have a Selkirk rep among us). They have become the "paddle to have." Most have gone with the "plus" model, I have the regular. Touch, feel, power, outstanding!
Helped to improve my game
Received the Selkirk Pro S1G as a birthday gift and loving it! I only wish it were a little lighter. Mine weighs 7.5 oz, and your website shows 7.3 oz. Apparently that small difference makes a difference, because I used a friend's paddle which weighs 7.3 oz and it does feel lighter!
This is it!
Love the balance and feel
Have played a number of Selkirk paddles. Great company and stand behind their product. I have the Pro S1G because I wanted a mid 7oz Paddle. Great control and power when needed, will try the blade paddle in the future.
The Pro S1G is an awesome paddle. The feel is good and feels very balanced. This paddle is the quietest paddle I have ever heard, great for areas where Pickleball noise is an issue. The Pro S1G gives me a lot of control, the face seems to absorb the ball a little, making it better for soft shots and placement. Power shots are great and the ball goes where I want it to go. I have let a couple of Pickleball friends use my Pro S1G and now they want one too. I know this paddle is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
The joys of finding the perfect paddle.
Selkirk Pro S1G, ordered it Sunday evening and it was here Thursday morning. 7.4 oz with a graphite face, big sweet spot, tons of control, and the balance is really nice. Playing with the S1G has made me a better player. I don't know if my playing warrants a top of the line paddle, but since it makes me so happy and improves my skill level, raising me to the next level . . . well worth it.
