
Andrei Daescu
SelkirkPro Andrei Daescu started his career in late 2017 after playing professional tennis. He was introduced to Pickleball at the club he currently works at, after playing in an exhibition with some local pros. As a tennis player, Andrei played collegiately for the University of Oklahoma where he was an All-American. After graduating college, he played on the professional tour with highlights including: reaching a career high of 126 ATP in Doubles and 650 ATP in Singles, competing in the US Open, and representing his home country Romania in the Davis Cup. As a Pickleball player, Andrei has had great success, and won the following tournaments: South Florida Slam, Florida Open 2018 Pickleball Championships, 2018 Powerade State Games in North Carolina, Boca West Engage Open Tournament, and LaBelle Florida Open. He finished 4th in Singles at the 2018 Nationals, and 4th in Mixed at the Atlanta Open. When he isn't competing, you can find Andrei teaching Pickleball locally in the Palm Beach, Florida area. Andrei finds the game of Pickleball very addictive, and he really enjoys the competitive aspect of it. He is really thrilled to be part of the fastest growing game in America.
