Have only been playing about 6 months but have picked up the sport pretty quick-3.5-4.0 range. Started with a decent (upstreet) paddle but tried the 300a xl when a friend had it on a 30 day trial. I literally loved it after the first ball I hit. Ball flies off the face-excellent control and its lightweight. I had ordered a Rally graphite 2.0 so figured that one would feel close-played it for a couple hours and s by it back-ok paddle but nothing close to the 300a for me anyway.
The new 2017 paddle the blue won
I bought one it is awesome paddle alot of power very good for control shots getting use to the dink and dunk game with it but when I get it down it's on
Great Paddle for a beginner
I bought this paddle about 9 months ago. As I played with a few demo paddles and came to like this one of the 8 I tried. It's light weight and hits very well with the medal combs in side of the paddle.
I have not played with a different paddle since and my game has improved a lot do to the paddle and practicing 3 or 4 days a week. It is a little costly but well with the money. I like it so must that I have recently order a second Selkirk paddle. :)
The control with it is great for a beginner yet it is suggested for a more advance player. I disagree with that. It a awesome beginners paddle.
I recommend the paddle to everyone.
Bought this paddle in Buffalo, NY during the NYS Championships and haven't put it down since! Love the feel of the ball off the face. Gives me the power when I need it and the touch close to the net.
This paddle has improved my "third shot" greatly! As a former Racquetball teaching pro I am very picky about writing any reviews for products that I have not played with myself. This Selkirk paddle is truly the best in my arsenal and my current go-to weapon of choice.
While I didn't have this paddle going into this year's Championships, rest assured that it will be going with me this year! (Probably explains why I didn't take the win...I wasn't playing with a Selkirk...we won't make that mistake again!)
Beautiful paddle, top quality fit and finish, improved my game
I love my new Selkirk 300A XL paddle. The paddle is beautiful, top quality fit and finish, and durable. It's the right weight and size (slightly lighter than my husband's 300A XL+). My game has improved from using the club paddles. I am more aggressive, getting to the net, and having FUN! I shared my paddle with friends and they have ordered theirs! Thank you Selkirk Sport for an excellent paddle.
Just got this paddle and have played 6-8 hours with it. I absolutely LOVE it. It is the perfect (light) weight for me; the grip is comfortable and I am a complete fan of the aluminum honey comb with graphite surface. This paddle has a lot of "pop". I have tried other paddles that seem to have dead spots. This one does not. I have read that aluminum core can dent easily so I will be very careful with this paddle to protect its surface from hitting anything except the pickleball.
I have been playing with this paddle for 6-8 months. I find it has improved my game from the dink to the slam. Thanks!
Love the light weight
I was using the same paddle for almost 2 yrs. When Selkirk came out with their light weight one, I jumped on it. I have been very pleased with it. Not only is it light, but the grip is great for me. I think overall this paddle is going to withstand the usage I put on my other paddle. The sound is much different too, not as noisy. I switched back to my other paddle when another player wanted to try mine and I can truly say the impact of the ball on the paddle surface is a huge difference. The only way I know how to explain it is that this paddle takes the hard hit and pushes back, where as when the ball hit my old paddle hard when standing at kitchen line, it would die on impact. So, overall I'm definitely pleased. Thanks again Selkirk, I think I want to get one more so I don't have to share mine EVER :)
Love my new 300A paddle!!
I am fairly new to the sport of Pickleball, but I must say that I think I'm becoming a Pickleball fanatic. I love playing this game. But, one of my problems, besides my wife telling everyone that she's becoming a Pickleball widow, is that I have developed "Pickleball elbow" and was looking for a light weigh replacement paddle to try to ease some of the pain, especially when using my backhand. I have now used my new 300A paddle a few times. It took me a few games to get use to the lightweight and make the small adjustments that I needed, but I feel overall that this was a good investment. The feel and the quality are top notch. Also, I can't say enough about the prompt and courteous feedback that I received from your staff regarding a small issue I had. I am planing on playing in a fundraising tournament in October and I plan on spreading the Selkirk word. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
I am a 3.0 player and this paddle made me into a 4.0 player. It has unbelievable power and control. I slice the ball and it give concise control. It took me about a week to learn how to handle the power and performance of the paddle. You will not be disappointed!!!!!!
