Through our top-notch equipment and unwavering support for community programs, our mission is to redefine the way the world views pickleball. Since our founding in 2014, Selkirk Sport has continued to invest in the most advanced technology, helping to maintain our position as the market leader in pickleball paddle innovation and technology. Purposely designed by Mike, Rob, and Jim Barnes to offer unrivaled quality, Selkirk has grown from an upstart with 10 employees to an energetic outfit with more than 100 team members in the beautiful Northwest, overlooking the eponymous Selkirk Mountains. Throughout our growth, Selkirk has revolutionized more than 15 made-in-the-USA paddles, added more than 100 athletes to our professional lineup, and participated in countless programs that support innovation and community growth. As a family-run company, we aim to promote the growth of pickleball by highlighting the integrity of the family-oriented, close-knit community at the heart of the sport.

ROB BARNES

CO-CEO & CO-FOUNDER

The eldest Barnes brother, Rob is a father first to his two beautiful children Riley and Annie. His wife Lauren — affectionately called “Rob’s Lauren” — works closely with the team. Rob is the brand’s visionary, constantly pushing for the best materials, designs, and technology while striving to continue Selkirk’s “no compromise” quality. As Vice President of Relations, he ensures our paddles and equipment are available to all communities and maintains a close relationship with our sponsored pros. He ensures that all players, both recreational and professional, have the opportunity to play their best by using the best.

MIKE BARNES

CO-CEO & CO-FOUNDER

The younger Barnes brother, Mike is a true entrepreneur at heart. As Vice President of Operations, he takes seriously the process of building and maintaining the Selkirk name. Mike’s work philosophy centers on the “principle of doing,” and his role reflects that. He works tirelessly behind the scenes to manage the day-to-day administrative and system details, as well as execute marketing strategies and build the top-notch Selkirk team. Mike prioritizes family time, taking his daughter Ava on daddy-daughter dates and helping his beautiful wife Lauren — affectionately called “Mike’s Lauren” — raise their son Wyatt. Lauren also helps Mike with his Selkirk duties.

JIM BARNES

PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

When Jim is not busy as an active father and grandfather to his family, he leads the manufacturing side of Selkirk as Vice President of Production. Jim brings his life experience and fortified work ethic to the brand. He is meticulous in developing every phase of production and ensures that each paddle is truly a premium, high-performance paddle. Jim is always researching new ways to amplify paddle quantity and maximize production efficiency without sacrificing quality. He is truly living his dream: getting to work side-by-side with his children building the best brand in pickleball.

TOM BARNES

CO-OWNER & DIRECTOR OF R&D

The youngest of the Barnes brothers, Tom, became part of Selkirk Sport upon transitioning to the USMC Reserves and returning to Coeur d'Alene, ID. The inception of the company occurred while he was enlisted in the Marine Corps. Living in Hayden, ID he is a proud parent of two alongside his wonderful wife, Ella. Tom infuses his passion for technology and advanced manufacturing into developing new materials, equipment & manufacturing approaches for pickleball. At Selkirk, Tom is dedicated to establishing a world-class R&D ecosystem, coupled with a lean, bleeding-edge manufacturing approach, to continually elevate the company's innovation and production standards.
